The “Happy Neuter Year,” campaign will provide $30 neutering surgeries for male dogs under 60 pounds and male cats during the month of January.

Spaying and neutering is the most effective way to reduce the homeless pet population and end pet euthanasia in our shelters. It is safe for puppies and kittens as young as eight weeks old, according to the American Veterinary Medical Association.

“Neutering male pets is a simple surgery that reduces unwanted behaviors, like roaming, fighting, and urine marking,” says Bonnie Hill, Founder and Executive Director, Spay Neuter Network. “It also is the only way to guarantee your dog or cat never fathers a litter of puppies or kittens, which is costly and adds to the number of homeless pets in our community.”

This special $30 rate is even less than the organization’s normal low-cost fee and is available to all residents in North Texas. Pet parents who wish to take advantage of this offer must mention the “Happy Neuter Year” campaign when they schedule their appointment. This campaign is based on availability.

“We alter up to 500 pets every week here in North Texas,” said Hill. “Despite our low cost, we are able to offer safe, high-quality care to our clients thanks to our funders.”
