Happy Tails: How spay/neuter services helped one woman care for multiple cats
A year ago, Kalie Davis rescued a young cat on the side of the highway whom she named Avocado. At home, Kalie already had Mr. Noodle, her six-year-old male cat. Neither cat was sterilized so, just a few months later, they had four kittens.
Kalie knew the kittens needed vaccinations and loving homes, but she wasn’t sure about spaying and neutering them. Like many pet owners, she worried about the surgery and how it might affect her pets – and she didn’t have the money to care for them.
That’s when she reached out to us.
Kalie learned that spaying and neutering not only prevents unwanted litters but also provides lifelong health benefits for her cats. Sterilized cats have a lower risk of certain cancers, and they tend to be calmer, reducing their desire to roam and display territorial behaviors.
Kalie made the smart choice to get her cats sterilized and vaccinated, and we were there to help. Living in an underserved community, she received free spay/neuter surgeries, vaccinations, microchips, and rabies vaccines for all six cats. Thanks to our transport service, we handled everything—making the process easy and stress-free for her.
“It gives me peace of mind knowing they’re all taken care of now,” Kalie shared. “I had such a positive experience with Spay Neuter Network and will definitely return for future services.”
