Spay Neuter Network announced today it has been awarded funding from the Banfield Foundation and PetSmart Charities® to support its microchipping efforts in Dallas. As of June 2017, microchipping is mandatory for all dogs and cats four months or older in the city.
To bring awareness and help pet owners comply with the law, Spay Neuter Network will be holding a free microchip clinic. Affordable vaccines will also be available.

Microchips dramatically increase the odds of a pet returning home to their owners if they’re ever lost: dogs are 2.4 times and cats are 21.4 times more likely to be reunited with their owner if they’re microchipped.
