Happy Tails: A Journey to Better Health for Flower and Baby Girl
Mr. and Mrs. Gutierrez have loved and cared for Flower for seven years and Baby Girl, Flower’s daughter, for four years. Recently, they sought help from us after their San Antonio CASA case workers referred them to SNN as a low-cost option for spaying their dogs.
Living in a qualifying, grant-supported ZIP code, both dogs were eligible for free surgery, rabies vaccines, and microchipping. However, the family missed their first appointments due to car troubles and the fact that Mrs. Gutierrez works in Kerrville, an hour away.
Understanding their situation, we rescheduled their dogs’ surgeries for a day when the transport pick-up was only five minutes from the Gutierrez’s house. This enabled the family to drop off their dogs at the transport pick-up location so we could bring them into the clinic for their surgeries. It also allowed Mrs. Gutierrez to get to her job in Kerrville on time.
“Thank you so much for rescheduling us and transporting our babies,” said Mrs. Gutierrez. “To have y’all meet us by our house is a huge blessing. The transport program is amazing!”
With the help of SNN, Flower, who had four litters in six years, will no longer have to go through the challenges of pregnancy and puppy care. Both Flower and Baby Girl are now healthier and happier, thanks to the support and care they received at our San Antonio clinic.
