Happy Tails: Russell

When a three-year-old dog unexpectedly showed up at Russell Lawrence’s home in San Antonio, he hadn’t planned on taking in a pet. But he wanted to make sure she was safe and received the care she needed. After caring for her for about two months, Russell was concerned about her irritated, scabby skin and struggled to find an affordable way to get her veterinary care.

After learning about Spay Neuter Network’s free services through word of mouth and Facebook, Russell brought her to one of our vaccine clinics.

During their visit, she received a rabies vaccine, DPPV vaccine, and microchip at no cost. Our team also recommended flea and tick prevention to help address her skin concerns, and Russell purchased Bravecto to support her care. We’re also helping him schedule her spay surgery.

Although Russell hadn’t originally planned to keep her, he’s committed to helping her become healthier and eventually finding her a loving, permanent home.

“These resources allowed me to keep her safe and work toward getting her healthy, even though I’m still hoping to find her a permanent home.”

Thanks to supporters like you, people like Russell can access affordable veterinary care when an animal unexpectedly comes into their lives. Your support helps give pets the care they need and a better chance at a healthy, happy future.
