Happy Tails: Tlaloc’s Journey from Storage Unit to Loving Home
Working from home, Sandra kept hearing persistent meowing coming from an outside storage space. When she went to investigate, she was shocked to find a small kitten wrapped in a tarp, barely able to walk. Sarah brought him inside and decided to name him Tlaloc.
Initially, Sandra nursed Tlaloc back to health while also looking for a new home for him. However, she soon found herself attached to the scrappy little feline and decided to keep him. To ensure Tlaloc’s health and well-being, she knew she needed to get him neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.
Fortunately, Sandra lived within one of our Fort Worth grant-supported ZIP codes, which meant she could access free neutering services. In addition, we provided Tlaloc with a rabies vaccination and a microchip. Because these services were free, Sandra was able to pay for a combo test to ensure Tlaloc didn’t have leukemia or feline immunodeficiency. She was relieved and grateful that living in a grant-covered ZIP code allowed her to give Tlaloc the best care possible without straining her finances.
Today, Tlaloc is a healthy, happy cat who has received all his vaccines and a loving home with Sandra. Reflecting on their journey, Sandra is incredibly thankful for the assistance and support she received from Spay Neuter Network since it made it possible for her to keep Tlaloc as a cherished member of her family.
